ARCHETYPE Fluid Output (openEHR-EHR-OBSERVATION.fluid_output.v1)

ARCHETYPE IDopenEHR-EHR-OBSERVATION.fluid_output.v1
ConceptFluid Output
DescriptionRecord of fluid output by the subject.
UseUse to record details of individual fluid output measurements or estimations as part of routine nursing care, often as part of fluid balance estimations. For example: "Urine", "150ml"; or "Aspiration", "50 ml". A fluid balance chart will typically require a combination of OBSERVATION.fluid_output, OBSERVATION.fluid_balance and this archetype to capture all the required components.
MisuseNot to be used to record fluid input. Use OBSERVATION.fluid_input for this purpose. Not to be used to record fluid balance calculations. Use OBSERVATION.fluid_balance for this purpose.
PurposeTo record fluid output measurements or estimations, often used as part of fluid balance estimation.

FluidFluid: Identification of the fluid type or source.
For example: urine; vomit or drain tube fluids. In a clinical application, if the same type of fluid is being observed from two or more sources such as multiple drains from the same wound, the fluid source may be described as “Drain 1” and “Drain 2”.
